International Sponsorship Fund 2022 open for applications
Our International Sponsorship Fund 2022 is now open for applications from music education projects around the world.
Eligible organisations can apply for one-off grants for projects that encourage progression in music learning through community activities, such as local festivals and outreach work, or through high quality performance opportunities for musicians in chamber ensembles, orchestras and choirs.
We set up the fund in 2021 and so far it’s made a difference to more than 40 different organisations across Africa, Asia, Australia and New Zealand, Latin America and the Caribbean. Recipients have used their grants to buy and repair instruments, train teachers, and support a wide range of education and performance projects that break down barriers to music learning and motivate and support musicians of all ages.
Our most recent grants went to projects in Brazil, Haiti, Kenya and Nicaragua, with a focus on music tuition, music employment, social inclusion and wellbeing.
ABRSM’s Chief Executive, Chris Cobb, said: “ABRSM is committed to supporting music learning around the globe and the ISF is a modest but important part of our commitment.
“We’re looking for exciting projects that can really make a difference to learners by giving them the kind of musical opportunities that they would otherwise never have had.”
To apply for an ISF grant, projects must benefit musicians outside the UK and Ireland. The closing date for applications is 8 November 2021.
